The Department of Philosophy at Bucknell University invites applications for TWO Visiting Assistant Professors of Philosophy, to begin August 2025. AOS: Open. AOC: Logic or Modern Philosophy. Each position is a one-year position with the expectation of renewal for a second year contingent on successful performance. The teaching load is 3/3. We have teaching needs in introductory logic (several sections per year) and in modern philosophy (an intermediate survey course aimed at philosophy majors).

Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. by the start date. Candidates with ABD may be considered.

Your application should establish your interest in working at a primarily undergraduate liberal arts institution. Include how your experiences, knowledge, skills, and/or past accomplishments will contribute to equitable and inclusive teaching, broadly defined as including classroom instruction, advising, mentoring, and other educational experiences.
