The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor. We are looking for someone with an Area of Specialization Social/Political or Ethics (with some preference for Social/Political). This position will begin fall 2025.

Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in philosophy or associated field by the start of appointment.
Evidence of research excellence in area of specialization (social/political or ethics) as displayed in written, presented, and published work.
Evidence of research innovation and impact in area of specialization (social/political or ethics) as displayed in the writing sample and research profile.
Evidence of teaching excellence as displayed in the teaching portfolio.

Preferred Qualifications

Research interest in social/political as evidenced by written, presented, or published work.
Demonstrated expertise in areas that are not already covered by our department sufficient to teach an upper-level undergraduate class.
Evidence of involvement indicative of sustained contribution to the profession.
