Position Summary: The primary location of this position is the main Cullowhee, NC campus.

The mission of the Department of Social Work at Western Carolina University is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to practice at the generalist (BSW) and advanced generalist (MSW) levels of Social Work practice. Congruent with the University's mission to improve individual lives and enhance community development in the predominately rural Western North Carolina region, the Department seeks to prepare professionals who are committed to the core Social Work values of respect for all people and advancement of social and economic justice.
The Department of Social Work is recruiting for a 9-month, fixed term Instructor with an anticipated begin date of January 2025. Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate Social Work courses, providing student advisement and engaging in service to the department, college, university, and community. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching and and service in the social work profession.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:

Minimum Qualifications: MSW from a CSWE accredited social work program.

Preferred Qualifications: MSW from a CSWE accredited social work program with two or more years post-MSW practice experience.
